Located in East Vancouver, The Red Wagon is a small diner that serves hearty brunch with a distinct retro vibe. There is always a long lineup no matter what time of day or year you visit – in fact, one time the wait was so long that the server actually felt bad and brought everyone in line some freshly baked goodies. However to me, its tininess adds to the warmth and charm of the diner and the food is definitely worth the wait.
Super Trucker is a great option for first-timers as you get to try a bit of everything. It comes with 2 eggs, home fries, toast, pulled pork, crisp pork belly and their popular buttermilk pancakes. The diner also makes a mean grilled cheese. Accompanied by a smokey tomato soup, their grilled cheese is packed with cheddar, goat cheese and swiss.
